Master Automated Photogrammetry from Scratch
Turn ordinary photos into 3D models. 6 modules on capture, processing, Gaussian Splatting, and monetizing your 3D assets. The complete beginner-to-pro pipeline.
See photogrammetry in action
From a phone camera to a 3D model you can publish, print, or sell.
Paid licenses required. Everything runs on Meshroom and CloudCompare.
Students trained worldwide across 80 countries.
Production experience distilled into structured, repeatable workflows.
Photogrammetry tutorials leave you stranded.
You have watched the YouTube tutorials. You took 100 photos of a statue, ran them through Meshroom, and got a cloud that looks vaguely like the statue. Holes everywhere. Blurry texture. No idea how to fix it. No idea how to turn it into something a client or a marketplace will pay for.
The gap is not the software. It is the full workflow: how to plan a capture, how to tune the processing, how to clean the output, how to export to a format people actually use, and how to make money from the result. This course closes every step of that chain.
Every 3D career starts with capture. Photogrammetry is the cheapest, most accessible entry point. All you need is a phone and a laptop. Master this, and every downstream 3D discipline opens up: Gaussian Splatting, scan-to-BIM, digital twins, VR asset creation. This is the base camp.
What you’ll build
A full photogrammetry business in 6 modules.

Automated capture pipeline
From a handful of photos to a dense, clean point cloud. Meshroom automation, batch processing, and the capture discipline that keeps results sharp.

CloudCompare deliverables
Cleaning, transforming, and exporting point clouds and meshes with CloudCompare. The open-source Swiss army knife of 3D reconstruction.

Gaussian Splatting bonus
A bonus module on Gaussian Splatting. Train splats from your own photos, view them in the browser, and compare them to classical photogrammetry.

Phone-based scanning
Turn your phone into a 3D scanner. Capture techniques that give you usable scans without a drone or a professional camera.

3D asset monetization
How to sell your 3D models. Marketplaces, pricing, VR asset stores, and the active and passive income streams of a photogrammetry business.

Python automation
Camera calibration and intrinsic calibration in Python. Automate the preprocessing that most tutorials skip.
I built this course for the engineer who has never reconstructed anything in 3D and wants to get up and running in a weekend. Every lesson assumes you are starting from zero. By the end, you will have captured, processed, and exported a 3D model you can publish.
How this course works
Hands-on, beginner-friendly, and built for people who just want to start.
100% asynchronous
Access everything 24/7 on the LMS. Self-paced. No live sessions required.
Phone + laptop friendly
No expensive hardware required. A phone camera and a laptop are enough to complete every module.
Free software stack
Meshroom, CloudCompare, and Python. Every tool in the course is free and open-source. No paid licenses required.
Business module included
Module 5 covers monetization. Not just the technical skill, but how to turn it into an income stream.
Lifetime access
One payment, permanent access. Every future update, including new software walkthroughs and bonus lessons, is included.
3D competition access
Submit your reconstruction to the community competition. See how your work stacks up and get feedback from other students.
Every other 3D discipline is downstream of photogrammetry. Master the capture, the processing, and the deliverables here. Then every advanced course makes immediate sense: Gaussian Splatting, scan-to-BIM, digital twin deployment, spatial AI. This course is the foundation everything else builds on.
The Curriculum
6 modules. From first capture to first sale.
Prerequisites
This course is designed for complete beginners. If you can take a photo and install software, you can complete it.
- No Python required: optional Python lessons included, but not needed to complete the course
- Hardware: a laptop (Windows, Linux, or Mac) with 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB+ recommended for the Gaussian Splatting bonus module
- Software: Meshroom, CloudCompare, Blender. All free and open-source. No paid tools required
- A phone or camera: any recent smartphone works. DSLR is a bonus, not a requirement
No prior 3D or photogrammetry experience required. This is the zero-to-one course.
What is reality capture? The scales of analysis, the applications, and the fundamentals of photogrammetry as a discipline.
The capture side. Camera parameters, object properties, walking plans, and the field techniques that give you high-quality input.
Run the photogrammetry engine. Meshroom from basic to advanced, camera calibration in Python, and the processing settings that separate a clean model from a broken one.
Turn the raw output into a deliverable. CloudCompare basic and advanced workflows, scale and transform, and export patterns.
Turn the skill into income. Active and passive income streams, VR asset stores, mapping clients, and how to scale a photogrammetry business.
Bonus content. Gaussian Splatting base knowledge and hands-on, web experiences, phone scanning, and future directions.
Your instructor
Dr. Florent Poux
I’ve spent 12+ years in 3D geospatial: from field surveys with total stations to building AI systems for Fortune 500 companies. I published the O’Reilly book on 3D Data Science with Python. I’ve advised startups valued at over 15M EUR. I’ve held a professorship, taught at university, and led R&D for some of the largest organizations in the space.
I don’t teach syntax. I teach judgment. Every module is built around real decisions I’ve faced in production. Which neural renderer fits an industrial inspection job. How to architect a semantic pipeline that doesn’t choke on 500M points. When to use algorithmic methods and when to switch to deep learning.
What students say
Beginners, hobbyists, engineers, and small business owners from 80 countries.
“We used the HITL annotation engine to label 50K objects in our BIM dataset. It cut our annotation time by 70%. Real production value from day one.”
“I went from copy-pasting Open3D tutorials to building a full classification pipeline for our digital twin project. The production mindset changes everything.”
“The scan-to-BIM pipeline turned a three-week manual modelling job into a two-day automated workflow. We closed three new heritage contracts the same quarter.”
“The photogrammetry-to-splat pipeline module replaced three tools in our stack. We deliver photorealistic scenes to clients in half the time.”
“We rebuilt our drone-to-deliverable workflow around the batch processing module. A 1.2 km corridor now ships in eight hours instead of three days.”
“The GCP and check-point chapter alone justified the price. Our reconstructions finally pass survey audit on the first submission.”
“I have done photogrammetry for fifteen years. Florent showed me four automation tricks I had never used. Pure ROI, no fluff.”

Straight answers
Do I need a drone or fancy camera?
No. A recent smartphone is enough to complete every module. A DSLR or drone is a bonus, not a requirement.
Do I need to know Python?
No. Python is optional and only used in one lesson on camera calibration. The rest of the course uses Meshroom and CloudCompare GUIs.
What hardware do I need?
A laptop with 8 GB RAM minimum. For the Gaussian Splatting bonus, 16 GB+ RAM and a CUDA GPU are recommended but not required.
How long do I have access?
Lifetime. One payment, permanent access. Every future update, including new bonus lessons, is included.
What’s the refund policy?
90 days. Capture something, reconstruct it, export it. If you don’t see results, email me for a full refund.
Is photogrammetry still relevant with Gaussian Splatting?
Yes. Gaussian Splatting gives you photorealistic rendering, but photogrammetry gives you metric-accurate meshes and point clouds. Most real projects need both. This course covers the classical side and a bonus module on Gaussian Splatting.
Can I actually make money with this?
Yes, and module 5 is dedicated to the business side. Marketplaces, VR asset stores, and service work for mapping clients are all covered.
Can I upgrade to the Reconstructor OS later?
Yes. This course is the beginner entry point. The Reconstructor OS is the advanced production path. Contact me for upgrade credit.
