Episode 1: Aerial LiDAR Vectorization
3D AI Live/Replay/Episode 01
From an aerial scan to one clean footprint per house.
We take a raw aerial LiDAR point cloud and write the Python that turns it into building footprints a GIS can open, plus a 3D mesh of each roof.
The brief
What we build in this session
You start with
An aerial LiDAR point cloud (.las or .laz).
You end with
A 2D vector footprint for each house (.shp) and a 3D mesh (.ply).
How we get there
The full workflow in Python: pre-processing, segmentation, then vectorization.
